The AI’s verdict (spoiler)
Knuckles by DQ. Mario's size carries round one. In round two he triple-jumps into a ground-pound, which is a stomp, which is a foul. The referee disqualifies him, and Knuckles, often tricked by Eggman, is finally handed a win for free.
Fair fight? Hold the bout under a low ceiling so Mario can't jump. Then he has to trade punches with Knuckles, who is 45 cm shorter, instead of dropping onto him from above.
